The Lost Numbers and the Yankees

I'm to lazy to post this in any of the million of lost forums out there, so this is to no one in particular (except maybe [info]zoomardav):

The Lost Numbers are NOT all retired Yankees numbers. There are 15 retired Yankees numbers (16 if you count #8 twice because it honors two players). The retired numbers are:

1 3 4 5 7 8 8 9 10 15 16 23 32 37 44 49

42 is retired by baseball, but the Yankees actually have the only active player to still wear 42.

5 of the 6 Lost numbers are retired yankees numbers. 5 of the 15 retired yankees numbers are Lost numbers.

In honor of douglas adams...

No, it's actually for Jackie Robinson, who broke the color barrier in major league baseball in 1947. He wore 42. They retired it in the 90's, though they allowed anyone who was wearing 42 at the time to keep it.

At safeco, in right field you'll see the number displayed in Robinson's honor.
