It's late. I'm dead tired, but can't seem to get to sleep. I have cut way back on the amount of soda I drink lately, and therefore my caffeine intake has gone down. Perhaps my tolerance is low and the can of mountain dew I had this afternoon did me in. My job has had me spending a lot of time in front of a computer lately, and somehow long shifts staring at the screen go hand in hand with mt. dew (to me).

Useless random trivia and stuff:

-The three races that make up the Triple Crown are the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness, and the Belmont Stakes. I heard that once, 7 years ago, and thought at the time "that'll come in handy some day, knowing that." But so far it hasn't. Still committed to memory though.

-Someone once told me that Dr. Pepper was prune flavored. Anyone know if this is true?

-I just learned that Chow Yun-Fat is in Pirates of the Carribbean 3, as an Asian Pirate Captain. 2007, you can't come soon enough.

-This week I got one of the coolest pieces yet for my Star Wars Bathroom collection. I got it cheap, and what is cool is that it's something that I believed existed, though I'd never heard of one, seen it, even heard rumor that it existed. I only speculated that it must exist. And it does. And now I have it.

-I love National Comment and listen to every new sketch as it comes out (I get it via iTunes, unless I get an advance copy sent to me from one of the writers). But more than any other sketch, I've listened to "Men-Paws" over and over again, because of the word "pooper." I hope that as we all watch NC's meteoric rise, a side benefit is that "pooper" reenters our lexicon.

Oh yeah... I meant to add "more on that later." I'll scan the thing and post. It will probably be a let down after this build up.

When I was a kid my family took a trip to Dallas and toured the Dr. Pepper factory. The most memorable part was that at the end where we all got free samples, they were pushing Hot Dr. Pepper - that is, heated and served like coffee, in coffee mugs. I vividly remember them saying "one day this will be what everyone drinks in the morning." Hasn't quite caught on yet, I guess.

Whoo! Gotta give my shout-out to Kentucky!! The Run for the Roses is the biggest jewel in the triple crown. I've actually never been to the Derby, but for the two weeks leading up to it, Louisville is a big ol' party town. The "Kentucky Derby Festival" is super-fun including even a steamboat race).

I hate Dr. Pepper and am not too fond of prunes, so I'd believe it.

Ah, poopers.
Life is simple again.

I can't believe you're giving a shout out to horse racing. I guess your loyalty to the home town trumps your ethics in this case.... those poor, poor creatures.

You *hate* Dr. Pepper? I think you're the first person I've ever heard say they hate Dr. Pepper.

Prunes = good for the pooper. Pepper = bad for the pooper.

Oh, and sidenote - City Life Vancouver? I'm sooo jealous. Give Kristen Kreuk a kiss for me...
