Pictures of the trestle fire

x-posted to sacramento

These first few taken from behind the B Street Theatre, 27th and B Street in Midtown Sacramento. For those of you non-Sacto friends, the train tracks run right behind our theatre at all times of the day and night, blaring their horns, etc., so we're just used to it. Our actors are used to adjusting to the noise, and our patrons have even asked us if we'll "pipe in" train noise when we move to our new location, to make them feel at home. The trestle that burned connects to the tracks behind our theatre, so tonight it's eerily silent.

B Street folks pose with the plume of black smoke:

Following the bike trail up to and along the American River, you could get right across from where the fire was. By now the smoke was mostly white, probably because the fire had died down and was more wood and brush burning (the creosote was the cause of the dark black smoke, I think):

On the train tracks, on the other side of the river from the fire:

A firefighter heads across the bridge:

You can't fool me. You just want to show off your personal graffito on the bridge in that last picture.
